The Family Business Foundation is a wholly independent nonprofit organization legally structured as a separate 501(c)(3) under the United States federal tax code.
This independence allows us to focus on long-term community solutions and strategic philanthropic work that reaches beyond short-term cycles and immediate outcomes.
We work alongside mission-aligned individuals and organizations by offering support that helps communities build toward sustainable and measurable progress.
The Family Business Foundation pursues this mission by focusing on four primary pillars of action, known as their "Core Four" priorities:
Economic Empowerment: Providing tools to help families achieve financial independence and build sustainable futures.
Education: Promoting lifelong learning, access to education, and academic growth.
Health Equity: Advocating for wellness and equal access to healthcare in marginalized communities.
Social Justice: Fighting for equality, fairness, and lasting systemic change.
Our Story
Our Story Began With a Commitment to Community
Founded in Raleigh, North Carolina in March 2020, The Family Business Foundation, LLC was established as an independent nonprofit organization with a clear purpose—to serve as a catalyst for justice, peace, and stronger communities through collaborative action.
From the beginning, the Foundation was created to support grassroots ideas and community-based initiatives that are rooted in meaningful change. We recognized that many impactful ideas begin close to home—within neighborhoods, communities, and among people who understand the real needs around them.
Today, we continue to invest in partnerships and programs that strengthen communities while helping leaders turn vision into action.
