THE FAMILY BUSINESS FOUNDATION – DONOR PRIVACY POLICY

Effective Date: June 28, 2020

The Family Business Foundation ("we," "our," or "us") is deeply committed to respecting the privacy of our donors, volunteers, and website visitors. This Donor Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, both online and offline.

1. Information We Collect
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you make a donation, sign up for a newsletter, register for an event, or volunteer with our programs. This information may include:

  • Contact information (e.g., your name, mailing address, phone number, and email address).

  • Donation details (e.g., amount, date, and designation of your contribution).

  • Payment details required to process your transaction (note: credit card details are securely handled by our third-party payment processors and are never stored on our servers).

  • Any other communication preferences or comments you provide.

2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information strictly to advance our charitable mission, specifically to:

  • Process and acknowledge your donations, and provide tax-compliant receipts.

  • Update you on our programs, local events, and impact across North Carolina, California, and Maryland.

  • Respond to your inquiries, volunteer applications, or requests for information.

  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal reporting requirements.

3. Strict Protection of Your Data (No Selling or Trading)
The Family Business Foundation will not sell, rent, trade, share, or lease your personal information with any third-party commercial entities, nor will we send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations. We only share information with trusted third-party service providers (such as secure payment processors or email delivery systems) who are legally bound to keep your information confidential and use it solely to perform services for us.

4. Donor Recognition and Anonymity
We love to celebrate our community, and we may occasionally feature donor names in our annual reports or newsletters. However, we deeply respect your choices. If you wish for your donation to remain completely anonymous, please check the anonymity box on our donation form or contact us directly at the email below.

SPECIALIZED MULTI-CATEGORY RETAIL REDISTRIBUTION PRIVACY POLICY

1. BRAND PROTECTION, DE-BRANDING, AND ANTI-RESALE PROTOCOLS
To protect the market integrity, trademarks, and brand equity of our retail partners:
• All apparel, sneakers, and footwear are subject to strict de-branding protocols. Retail price tags, internal labels, bar codes, and identifying store marks will be physically removed, defaced, or obscured prior to redistribution.
• Inventory tracking data is utilized to enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy against the secondary resale, online listing, or commercial exploitation of any redistributed assets.
• Cross-reference logs are maintained internally to ensure products cannot be returned to commercial retail locations for cash, credit, or exchange.

2. CATEGORY-SPECIFIC LOGISTICS AND SAFETY TRACKING
We collect and process distinct operational data tailored to the unique regulatory and safety profiles of each product category:
• Perishable Goods (Food): We log cold-chain transit timestamps, refrigeration temperature data, harvest/packing dates, and strict expiration timelines to ensure food safety and maintain statutory liability protections.
• Electronics: We record hardware serial numbers and manufacturer batches. We enforce mandatory data-wiping protocols and maintain data-destruction logs to ensure no proprietary retail network data or consumer information remains on any device.
• Apparel, Footwear, & School Supplies: We track inventory by volume, category, size brackets, and compliance certifications (e.g., non-toxic material verifications for children's school supplies).

3. RECALL PROTOCOLS AND CHAIN OF CUSTODY
Data optimization within our general inventory management system directly protects public safety and mitigates retail partner liability:
• Our inventory database maintains an unbroken digital chain of custody from the initial retail donation point (distribution center or store number) to the final regional distribution hub.
• Batch, UPC, SKU, and serial number tracking are kept instantly searchable to execute immediate item isolation and disposal in the event of a product or food safety recall.
• Disposal certificates and secure destruction data are recorded and archived for any inventory deemed damaged, expired, or unfit for safe human consumption or use.

4. SYSTEM SECURITY AND DATA PRIVACY CONTROLS
We enforce stringent digital safeguards to isolate proprietary corporate donor data from standard distribution operations:
• Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC): General inventory management system users, volunteers, and field staff are restricted from viewing the sourcing origins, corporate identities, or financial valuations of the donated goods.
• Data Minimization: Public-facing impact metrics and reporting are stripped of all corporate, retail, and store-specific identifiers, relying strictly on aggregated weight, unit counts, and localized distribution data.
• Secure Infrastructure: All data housed within our inventory management system is encrypted at rest and in transit, utilizing secure API integrations for any third-party logistics or freight processing.
